So, I'm using a laptop provided by Social Services until I can buy a new, better one, which will probably be Tuesday. Because it's provided by Social Services, if I type in a swear or anything inappropriate, there'll be a pop-up warning and they'll be notified, however because I'm sixteen, they won't really care too much if I type in a swear.
Let's test that, shall we?
Shit.
Wow, no pop-up! But if I were to type that into a search bar or in a Word document (yes, even in a Word document), they'd be notified. As mentioned before, they wouldn't give a shit (hehehe) because I'm sixteen. It's just that people as young as about seven use these laptops as well, so they have to make sure they're not doing anything nefarious.
This does, however, mean that I will have to put my fanfic writing on hold until about Tuesday, as I don't want loads of dirty stuff to come through the server. The guy who brought the laptop to me (who was really nice, by the way) said that if they suspected I was genuinely at risk of something, they would contact the people responsible for me to check they knew. The people I live with probably wouldn't give too much of a shit (I can't stop lobbing S-bombs), but still. It'd be embarrassing.
Anyways, that's neither here nor there. What I really want to talk about is the word it just warned me about on my Word document.
And that word, ladies and gentlemen (well, ladies, I don't have any gentleman readers), is...
*mini fanfare*
..."loner"!
That's right, ladies, the word "loner" is, apparently, a naughty word. This basically just backs up my theory that introverts are the most misunderstood people on the entire planet. It's easy to argue that people of different ethnicities/sexualities/etc are more misunderstood. In no way do I support the discrimination of these people whatsoever... and that's exactly it. I live in a fairly tolerant country where black people and gay people, for example, are socially accepted with almost no suspicions or apprehensions. Of course, there are some shit (there it is again) people who do discriminate against people for things like that, but that's a very small part of England's population, when you compare it to the more accepting people. Introverts, however, are misunderstood worldwide. It doesn't matter where you go, you'll always find loads and loads of people who think that introversion is some sort of curse. I have nothing against extroverts, but I do have a problem when they use their extroversion as a petty excuse to be totally shitfaced towards introverts. It's happened before, and it actually led to me being physically attacked. The worst part about it was that she then tried to justify it by lying. Of course, I didn't fall for that shit. It took her a long time to come up with her excuse. She looked very angry at me when she attacked me. She couldn't properly answer my questions about why she did what she did.
I got a little off-topic at the end there, but my point is, if you're an introvert; fine. If you're an extrovert; fine. Just don't be a shithead!
